[Also in Division H1] Minute amounts of organophosphorus compounds are detected in a gas chromatograph apparatus using a thermal ion hydrogen flame detector having a single crystal body 4 of a halide of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as the ion source. The crystal body may be recessed as shown at 5 to fit over the burner nozzle 1 with hole 6 in register with the opening 7 of the nozzle. The crystal may be KBr, LiF, CsBr, NaC1, CaF 2 or BaF 2 . |
