PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel having remarkably excellent thermal fatigue properties compared with those of the conventional material used for an exhaust system member. SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel has a component composition comprising, by mass,≤0.020% C,≤0.25% Si,≤2.0% Mn,≤0.060% P,≤0.008% S, 13.0 to 16.0% Cr,≤1.0% Ni, 0.4 to 0.6% Nb,≤0.020% N, 1.3 to 1.9% Cu, 1.0 to 2.5% Mo, 2.0 to 4.0% W and 0.0005 to 0.0100% B, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
