<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compact an ultrasonic-motor-driven pointer instrument for a vehicle by reducing its height in a pointer shaft direction and its size in a direction orthogonal thereto. <P>SOLUTION: In this ultrasonic-motor-drive pointer instrument for a vehicle, a vibratory body 10 which is a stator portion of an ultrasonic motor is fixed to a housing 20 to cause resonant vibration to arise in the vibratory body, the resonant vibration is transmitted to a rotor 15, thereby rotating the rotor 15, and a pointer 4 coupled to the rotor 15 on its end side is thus rotated. The vibratory body 10 comprises an annular body 11, a plurality of vibrators 13 each protrusively provided by means of a spring part 12 on the inner circumferential side of the body 11, and piezo elements 14 provided on the respective vibrators 13. The base end side of the rotor 15 is inserted into the interior of the vibratory body 10 while the vibrators 13 are in contact with the periphery of the rotor 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
