The invention relates to electric arc surfacing, in particular it relates to the electrode, and may be used in the manufacture and strengthening the parts of rolling equipment in ferrous metallurgy and heavy engineering. An electrode for electric arc surfacing containing an alloyed wire of solid cross-section is equipped with an elliptical shell contacting at diametrically opposite points with the alloyed wire and forming two diametrically opposed areas with alloying elements, and the area of entire electrode is set depending on the area of alloyed wire of solid cross-section according to the expression: S = (1.4 – 2.0)S, where S - area of entire electrode; S– area of alloyed wire of solid cross-section. The electrode for electric arc surfacing will ensure crack resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance of the parts of metallurgical equipment, reducing consumption index of the rolls and cost of the rolling stock. |
