FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for chloromethylation of phthalocyanines. The method is realised while heating and using an aluminium chloride catalyst and a chloromethylation agent - ,'-dichlorodimethyl ether. The chloromethylation agent used is a reaction mixture obtained by reacting thionyl chloride and paraform containing ,'-dichlorodimethyl ether and the process is carried out at 85-100C. ^ EFFECT: method enables to obtain phthalocyanines with high degree of chloromethylation while increasing safety and environmental friendliness of production, low catalyst consumption and technological effectiveness of the process. ^ 5 ex
