PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein designated printing cannot be carried out as designated, for example, printing is carried out by a description partly different from printing contents designated by a user of a transmission origin because an emulation not completely conforming to image data from the transmission origin is used if an emulation conforming to the image data is not found in a prepared location in an image forming apparatus and thereby cannot be predetermined. SOLUTION: The printer 1 equipped with a plurality of different emulations for receiving image data from a plurality of transmission origins to form images, includes: a language determination part 13 which extracts at least one or more emulations for interpreting the image data from the plurality of emulations; a selecting part 14 which enables the user of the transmission origin to select the emulation by displaying the emulation candidates; and a transmission origin identification information acquiring part 15 which obtains information for identifying the transmission origin.
