PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of preventing false determination on the amount of toner remaining in a toner cartridge based on only the sensing of the amount of toner in a developing device.SOLUTION: A remaining amount information acquiring part acquires remaining amount information on an amount of toner remaining in a cartridge, which is stored in a memory device disposed in the cartridge mounted on an image forming apparatus body. A toner amount sensing part senses information on an amount of toner in a developing device performing a developing process using the toner supplied from the cartridge. A determination part determines that the cartridge is empty of the toner when the remaining amount information acquired by the remaining amount information acquiring part indicates that the remaining amount of toner is smaller than a predetermined amount of toner and the information on the amount of toner sensed by the toner sensing part indicates that the amount of toner in the developing device is smaller than a predetermined amount. |
