<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object recognition device capable of recognizing the shape of the object stably, even if the data of the detection object are mixed with a small amount of calculation. <P>SOLUTION: The object recognition device is provided with a shape recognition means 2 for recognizing the outline of the object, based on the surface shape information detected by the object detection means 1. The shape recognition means 2 comprises a shape model setting means 3 for setting the shape model, by extracting an arbitrary samples from the sample group constituting the surface shape information for a prescribed number of times; a fitness calculation means 4 for calculating the fitness of each shape model to the sample group, by counting the number of discrepant samples to each shape model; and an outline determination means 5 for determining the shape model of the least discrepant number as a highest fitness model. The fitness calculation means 4 stops the counting of the number of discrepant samples to the regarding shape model, if the number of discrepant samples reaches the first reference value in the middle of counting the number of the discrepant samples. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
