<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless relay station device and a wireless relay method that are capable of discriminating whether a signal is subjected to multihop relay on the wireless relay station device, and properly relaying a downlink signal. <P>SOLUTION: According to a wireless relay method of the present invention, a first wireless relay station device or a wireless base station device generates a control signal to the effect that relay is made via a wireless relay station device, and transmits the control signal via a downlink.
