DISTRIBUTED CONSTANT AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce jitter in an output waveform of a distributed constant differential amplifier.

SOLUTION: A distributed constant amplifier has a plurality of amplifiers. Each of the amplifiers receives an input signal from one signal source with a specific delay time. Each of the amplifiers also provides an output signal to a common load with a delay time corresponding to the specific delay time. The sum of the specific delay time and the corresponding delay time is set constant for each of the amplifiers. Each of the amplifiers includes a pair of differential transistors and a pair of cascode transistors inserted in series between the differential transistors and an output of the amplifier. The pair differential transistors is biased such that a collector-base junction capacitance of each of the differential transistors becomes a junction capacitance in a quasi-saturation region.
