The invention relates to a method for molding sheet glass. A plurality of supportint assemblies are arranged between an upper die having a die core and a die cavity and a lower die having a die core and a die cavity, and the molding critical temperature of the supportint assemblies is higher than or equal to the molding critical temperature of sheet glass. When a heated temperature does not reach the molding critical temperature of the supportint assemblies, the self weight of the upper die is supported via the supportint assemblies so that a gap is formed between the upper die and the lower die. When the heated temperature reaches the molding critical temperature of the supportint assemblies, pressure is applied to the upper die, so that the supportint assemblies deform, and the sheet glass is foced by the die cores to deform toward the die cavities so as to be molded into glass products. The invention also relates to a mould. The method for molding sheet glass helps to prevent the sheet glass from cracking due to self-weighting pressing of the upper die, and also helps to allow the sheet glass to deform gradually so that fine curved glass products with thin housings are produced. |
