PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable appropriate determination of a scene in which best shot photographing should be performed.SOLUTION: A face is detected from a preview image, and further, it is determined whether the face is a smiling face. Then, when the face is not a smiling face, a past history is traced back, and when a predetermined time period has not elapsed since a smiling face became undetected and a face is detected by face detection, best shot photographing is performed, thereby enabling prevention of selection of an inappropriate image by best shot photographing in a state where a face cannot be detected. |
