PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent that shows a sufficient adsorption capacity when used as a decontamination adsorbent for water quality improvement and soil remediation or the like for which an extremely high adsorption capacity for radioactive cesium and strontium is required, and to provide a method of stably producing a large amount of the adsorbent at a low cost.SOLUTION: Artificial zeolite is produced from natural zeolite as the raw material and has an Si/Al ratio of 1.5 or higher and 2.5 or lower.
