(54) Title: SIGNAL-PROCESSING SYSTEM (54) Bezeichnang: SIGNALVERARBEITUNGSSYS (57) A video signal with 1250 lines, line interlacing and 100 Hz picture frequency, transcoded from a video signal with 1250 lines, line interlacing and 50 Hz picture frequency is free from extensive flickering. However, interferences due to a moving interference pattern may occur independently of the content of the picture. By transcoding the video signal with 1250 lines, line interlacing and 50 Hz picture frequency in function of the movement into a video signal with 900 lines without line interlacing and 75 Hz picture frequency, extensive flickering is avoided and the moving interference pattern is appreciably reduced, with the same vertical resolution and approximately the same line frequency. Application to digital image-signal processing.
