<p>Apparatus for detecting the presence of volatile amines in a sample is disclosed. The apparatus has a receptacle (6, 40) containing a test composition. A swab (10, 16, 58) brings a sample into contact with the test composition and an indicator substance (30, 44) is arranged to detect vapour arising as a result of reaction of the sample with the test composition and to change colour if said vapour contains volatile amines. The apparatus can be used in the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis.</p> |
