PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine printing lines excluding a significant area on a printing surface.SOLUTION: A last printing line detection section 14 detects a last printing line which is previously printed on a printing medium 20. A significant area detection section 15 determines whether there is any significant area following the last printing line in the read image data on the printing surface based on a piece of significant signal information 13b representing the characteristics of the significant area. When the significant area is detected, the significant area detection section 15 determines a printing start line next to the significant area; and when no significant area is detected, the significant area detection section 15 sets the printing start line next to the last printing line. |
