摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy for detection a direction where a target object such as a charging platform and the like exists, and to shorten movement time to the vicinity of the target object.SOLUTION: A self-propelled electronic device which automatically travels toward a position of a target object includes: a travel control unit for making the device perform linear travel and rotation operation by controlling the rotation of wheels; a signal communication unit for receiving a radio signal transmitted from the target object; a distance measurement unit for measuring a distance to the target object based on the received radio signal; a direction determination unit for determining the direction where the target object exists; and a control unit. The travel control unit makes the self-propelled device perform rotation operation in a current position, and while the rotation operation is being performed, the distance measurement unit measures the distance to the target object at a plurality of measurement points, and the direction determination unit determines the direction in which the target object exists by using the plurality of measurement distances measured at the plurality of measurement points and a rotation angle at each measurement point.
