An in-band positioning signal transmission method and an in-band positioning system in a communication network are disclosed in the present invention, wherein the system comprises: a management network element within the communication network, the management network element being used for managing one or more positioning network elements and providing a synchronous reference clock to the positioning network elements; a central positioning network element within the communication network, the central positioning network element being used for providing location estimating information to terminals based on the location information of the positioning network elements and transmitting the location estimating information to the terminals; the positioning network elements using the same frequency band as the communication network, the positioning network elements being used for generating in-band positioning signals for distance measurement on the basis of positioning signal assistance information, adjusting the transmission clock of the in-band positioning signals according to the difference between a local transmission clock and the synchronous reference clock provided by the positioning management network element, and transmitting in-band positioning signals according to the adjusted transmission clock. According to the above solution, the conflict between the cost and the positioning precision of the communication network solves, meanwhile provides a high precision clock synchronization mechanism, and solves the problems of low positioning precision and high layout cost of the communication network. |
