The invention relates to the use of a corn plant enriched in anti-oxidants or a derivative of same, to produce a medication, nutritional composition or nutraceutical for the prevention or treatment of coccidiosis, pododermatitis or ulcers in a subject. The invention also relates to a composition comprising a part of a corn plant enriched in anti-oxidants or a derivative of same and an anticoccidial agent, and to the use of said composition for the prevention or treatment of pododermatitis or ulcers associated with coccidiosis in a subject. The invention further relates to the use of a part of a corn plant enriched in anti-oxidants or a derivative of same to produce a nutritional composition or nutraceutical, and to a nutritional composition or nutraceutical comprising a part of a corn plant enriched in anti-oxidants or a derivative of same.
