PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect an abnormality in a belt.SOLUTION: An EPS applying an assistive force to a rack shaft via a belt type speed reducer 7 includes a housing 9 that covers a circumference of the belt type speed reducer 7 and has a through hole 9c formed thereon, through which a tension of a belt can be measured from the outside. The belt type speed reducer 7 includes a drive pulley 70, a driven pulley 71, and a belt 72 stretched between the drive pulley 70 and the driven pulley 71 and having core wires embedded in a rubber main body 73. The rubber main body 73 is provided with a contact detection part 78 on a back 75 thereof, the contact detection part 78 being capable of changing its color according to contact of water. |
