<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which improves the assemblability and has the connection reliability by multi-functional spacers. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module is provided with a circuit board 11; an optical assembly 12 which is mounted on the circuit board 11, has a plurality of optical elements which convert electrical signals into light signals or convert light signals into electrical signals, and also has an optical multiplexer which wavelength-separates the optical signals of the respective optical elements, or an optical branching filter which wavelength-separates the optical signals inputted to the respective optical elements; and an optical fiber 17 which is connected to the optical assembly 12 and transmits optical signals, from the optical multiplexer or the light signals to an optical branching filter. In this case, the optical module is provided with a spacer 1 for the optical assembly, which is interposed between the circuit board 11 and the optical assembly 12 to place the optical assembly 12 thereon; slits 41 that are formed on the side parts of the circuit board 11; and the optical assembly 12 is mounted on the slits 41 via the spacer 1 for the optical assembly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
