An apparatus for controlling an oxygen sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an engine; the oxygen sensor which generates an oxygen signal by measuring an exhaust gas generated by combustion of the engine; and a controller which senses oxygen signal sagging that response according to the amount of oxygen becomes slow using the oxygen signal, and stores occurrence cause information of the oxygen signal sagging, and determines the oxygen sensor as a fault or releases fault sensing as to the oxygen sensor by checking again whether the oxygen signal sagging occurs, by increasing current heating amount of a corresponding specific area as to the occurrence cause. |
