PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in image formation according to an electrophotographic system, power supply is limited so that power consumption of a heater does not exceed a prescribed value; when a power source voltage during continuous printing is dropped, the heater is not sufficiently heated and failure in image fixation occurs.SOLUTION: After the temperature of a heater reaches a predetermined target temperature by heating, an image forming apparatus controls heat to maintain the temperature of the heater at the target temperature while maintaining the conduction rate to the heater to be the upper limit of a predetermined conduction rate or less. Meanwhile, when the number of times the conduction rate to the heater reaches the upper limit of the conduction rate reaches the predetermined number of times or more within a predetermined time period, the image forming apparatus determines that a voltage of an AC power source supplying a power to the heater has dropped, and controls heating at a conduction rate larger than the upper limit of the conduction rate. |
