The present principles of the embodiments generally relate to an apparatus and a method for processing media assets and in particular to assigning ratings based on short form media assets. Short form media assets may comprise, for example, a short clip of a program such as a movie trailer. One exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus and a method for presenting short form media assets to a user of an electronic device. Ratings for the media assets are determined based on user interaction with the short form media assets. Ratings are used to make changes to the user profile and recommendations of other media assets to the user.
