PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic LED element having a long emission life and high luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: The organic LED element is provided which includes an anode, a cathode, and an organic thin film layer provided between the anode and the cathode. The organic thin film layer has: a light-emitting layer containing a dopant material emitting phosphorescence and a host material; a hole transport layer provided closer to the anode side than the light-emitting layer; and an energy barrier layer provided between the light-emitting layer and the hole transport layer and having a triplet energy level higher than that of the hole transport layer and a film thickness of 1 nm or more and less than 5 nm. |
