A user terminal, a control method thereof, and a multimedia system are provided. The control method of the user terminal including a display unit displays first image content on the display unit; detects a touch gesture in a detecting unit; controls the user terminal, when the touch gesture is a single touch gesture; and transmits data for controlling a first external device to the first external device, when the touch gesture is a multi-touch gesture.
