发明名称 Improvements relating to dental articulators
摘要 349,985. Dental articulators. LENTZ, J. A., 117, East Palm Lane, Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. Nov. 30, 1929, No. 36794. [Class 81 (ii).] In a dental articulator the relative horizontal movements of the frames carrying the upper and lower jaw models are controlled by three elements, two corresponding to the condyles and a third situated in the sagittal plane. Vertical movements may be controlled by the condyle elements and by an element corresponding to the usual incisal guide but arranged at the rear of the articulator. A templet for positioning the models may also be provided. The lower frame B is formed with standards 26 carrying condyle rods 27 terminating in studs 28 for a face bow and connected centrally by a housing 29 in which two cams 30 are journalled. The lower jaw model is attached to a plate 25 connected to the frame B by a peg 24 and a screw passing through an elongated slot 23. The housing 29 is formed with a swan neck member 39 carrying an adjustable pin 40 forming part of the incisal guide. The upper frame A carrying the upper model plate 45 is provided with laterally extending slotted arms 46 carrying the adjustable condyle members 58, with a vertical pin 34 passing between the cams 30 and having variable limited horizontal movement therebetween, and with an adjustable incisal guide 48 coacting with the pin 40. The cams 30 are so formed that the lateral movement permitted to the pin 34 in various positions in the sagittal plane may be varied by rotation of the cams. The pin 34 is flattened on two sides and may be rotated so as to vary its effective cross section. Each condyle member 58 carries a slotted disc 60 which is adjustable to vary the angular position of the slot 60a which receives one of the condyle rods 27 of the lower frame. An adjustable screw 63 projects into each slot to limit the penetration of the condyle rod into the slot, the parts being held in engagement by springs 68. The incisal guide 48 is angularly adjustable about a transverse horizontal axis, and the surface on which the end of the screw 40 bears may be a plane or may be convex, concave, or of other form. A templet for orienting the models in the articulator comprises a frame 69, provided with a rear wall 70 on which the median line is marked, and carrying a slab 71 of glass or porcelain. The frame is formed with an extension 73 having a rectangular hole so as to be vertically adjustable on a rectangular standard 76 secured to the lower frame B in place of the plate 25. The various adjustable parts of the articulator are provided with scales.
