Disclosed are a system and method for managing attendance and absence. The system for managing attendance and absence includes: tags possessed by students who go to school and go home; two or more cameras installed on an entrance through which the student goes in and out; and a going-to-school and going-home processing module which reads tag information, identifies a relevant student, confirms that the student goes to school and goes home, and transmits time of going to school and home and images captured by the cameras to a display unit possessed by a guardian of the student. The cameras continuously capture and store images. The going-to-school and going-home processing module extracts and transmits captured images before and after tagging time of the tags. Therefore, the system can transmit images of students of relevant tags to parents to enable the parents to check an attendance and absence state even when a plurality of people pass by the cameras. |
