PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery cathode active material which has high discharge capacity and excels in charge/discharge characteristics at low manufacturing cost, without applying a special dehydration process to a hydrate which is a raw material.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a lithium secondary battery cathode active material includes a process (A) in which a lithium-containing compound, a transition metal salt hydrate which is a hydrate containing Mand not containing sulfur and nitrogen atoms therein (where, Mis Fe (II), Fe (III), Co (II), Co (III), Ni (II), Ni (III), Mn (II), or Mn (III)), and a reaction accelerator which is a compound containing sulfur and/or nitrogen atoms therein are mixed to obtain a mixture, and a process (B) in which the mixture is calcined at 300°C to 900°C, both ends inclusive. |
