<p>An axial flow compressor 10 includes: an electric motor 22 including a rotating shaft 22a; a compression portion 20 including a driving shaft 40 connected without a speed-up gear to the rotating shaft 22a of the electric motor 22 and a rotor 31 rotating together with the driving shaft 40, the compression portion 20 driving the driving shaft 40 and thereby compressing a working fluid; and a velocity reducing portion 24 having a space for reducing the flow velocity of a working fluid discharged from a discharge opening of the compression portion 20. The rotating shaft 22a of the electric motor 22 is connected to the end of the driving shaft 40 on the side of the discharge opening; and the velocity reducing portion 24 is disposed so as to surround the electric motor 22.</p> |
