PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving pump unit which can perform variable speed operation control by the single pump unit while securely releasing heat.SOLUTION: In a pump unit, a pump portion installed in a pump casing and having an impeller and a rotating electric machine rotatably driving the impeller are integrated. The rotating electric machine includes: a housing having a plurality of cooling fins installed on the outer periphery thereof; a stator mounted to the housing; a rotor fixed to a rotating shaft of the rotating electric machine and configured by cylindrically arranging a plurality of permanent magnets; a bearing supporting the rotating shaft; an end bracket to which the bearing is mounted; a fan mounted to an end of the end bracket on a side opposite to a side to which the pump portion is mounted; a cover covering the housing; an electric power conversion system mounted to part of the housing; and a control board mounted to another portion of the housing.
