PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent that can give a liquid crystal alignment film having excellent photosensitivity and excellent characteristics such as electric characteristics, reliability for long-term driving, film strength, afterimage characteristics and the like.SOLUTION: A polymer (P) having a partial structure represented by formula (1) below in the main chain is incorporated into a liquid crystal alignment agent. In the formula, Ar, Arand Arrepresent an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or a heterocycle; R, Rand Rrepresent a monovalent having -C≡C-; Xand Xrepresent a single bond, ester bond, ether bond, carbonyl group, thioether bond, thioester bond, -NR-, or -CONR; n is 0 or 1; and m, k and j satisfy m+k+j≥1. |
