PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact material for a vacuum valve, which is superior in capacitive current interruption capability.SOLUTION: A contact point material 1 for a vacuum valve comprises: a base material 2; and a contact layer 3 formed on the base material 2. The base material 2 includes a Cu base material 6, Cr particles 4, and at least one kind of metal particles 5 selected from Nb particles and Ta particles, where the particles are distributed in the Cu base material 6. The contact layer 3 includes a Cu base material 6, and Cr fine particles 7 having particle diameters of 1 μm or less, and at least one kind of intermetallic compound fine particles 8 having particle diameters of 1 μm or less and selected from CrNb fine particles and CrTa fine particles, where the fine particles are distributed in the Cu base material 6. |
