PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetoresistive element in which an external magnetic field generated from a fixed layer is suppressed.SOLUTION: The magnetoresistive element includes a plurality of magnetic layers which make antiferromagnetic coupling with each other, a fixed layer retaining the perpendicular magnetization, a free layer, and an insulation layer arranged between the fixed layer and the free layer. In the magnetoresistive element, the crystal orientation of the plurality of magnetic layers making the antiferromagnetic coupling is preferably (001). In the magnetoresistive element, the plurality of magnetic layers making the antiferromagnetic coupling preferably contain Rh films and Ni films. |
