Monitoring method for preventing collisions of a stamping machine with brake brush

The method involves detecting, by a sensor, a position of a clamping frame for receiving an upper tool, and checking whether the position of the clamping frame is compatible to a position of a brush brake (42) by a machine controller (15) of a flat-bed stamping and/or embossing machine. A warning signal is emitted by an optical or acoustical warning apparatus (62) e.g. speaker, when the position of the clamping frame is incompatible to the position of the brush brake, where the position of the brake brush is automatically adjustable by a motor. An independent claim is also included for a flat-bed stamping and/or embossing machine.
