PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a motor control system easily and at a low cost and, also to enable simultaneous control of a plurality of motors while ensuring real time even in a motor drive device in which a memory of small capacity is mounted.SOLUTION: A control method for a motor drive system comprises: acquiring memory capacity usable in a motor drive device and a control command execution period for a motor; dividing the usable memory capacity by the data size of a control command to be transmitted to the motor drive device, thereby calculating the number of control commands storable in the motor drive device; multiplying the storable number of control commands and the control command execution period for the motor, thereby determining the control command transmission period for the motor drive device; and outputting the control commands corresponding to the storable number of control commands to the motor drive device on the basis of the control command transmission period.
