PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine igniter enabling an engine to continue operating if a failure occurs to an energy input circuit inputting electric energy from a negative side of a primary coil toward a battery power supply line before main ignition goes out to continue a spark discharge.SOLUTION: If abnormality determination means 26 determines a failure in an energy input circuit 6, only an energy input power supply line α3 is cut off and an ignition power supply line α2 is not cut off. It is thereby possible to actuate a main ignition circuit 5 even in a state of stopping the energy input circuit 6. Owing to this, even if a failure occurs to the energy input circuit 6 and the energy input circuit 6 is stopped, an engine can continue operating by the main ignition circuit 5 and a limp mode can be executed. |
