The aim of the invention is to provide a method for producing a largely flat component assembly (1) of a motor vehicle body, having an inner part (2), and outer part (3), and at least one reinforcement part (4) disposed therebetween, said method improving on conventional methods by advantageously combining a reduced production expense per se and a reduced heat input, particularly into the steel of a press-hardened component. The aim is achieved substantially in that the inner part (2) is first fixed to the reinforcement part (4) in the region of attachment flanges (5, 7) corresponding to one another by resistance spot welding (12) to form a weld group (11) and the outer part (3) is subsequently placed on the weld group (11) thus created in the region of said attachment flange (5, 7) and is attached thereto in a fixed manner at least in critical crash-relevant flange sections (15) by resistance projection welding (14).
