PURPOSE:To enable stable printing or copying not only on an ordinary size of paper but also on a special small size of paper through a paper feeder, by making the diameter of one of driven rollers of a paper conveyance means smaller than that of the other. CONSTITUTION:The conveyance means of a paper feeder comprises rollers for conveying special recording paper of large thickness. Among the rollers, the outside diameter of a right-hand (as to the drawing) driven roller 11a is made smaller than that of the other driven roller 11 by about two times of the mean thickness t0 of special small sizes of recording paper 40 such as a postcard, a name card and a book classification card. The width of the special small sizes of recording paper is so small that the paper comes into contact with only the driven roller 11a. As a result, the special small sizes of recording paper 40 of large thickness can be pinch-conveyed by the driving roller 10 and driven roller 11a of the conveyance means, with a uniform distribution of pressure on the paper. Printing or copying can thus be performed in a prescribed direction and a prescribed position.
