PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device capable of suppressing slippage in write start timing from regular timing when a detection surface of synchronization detection means is tilted relative to a sub-scanning direction, and to provide an image forming device.SOLUTION: An optical scanning device for a write device or the like has incident optical elements, such as cylindrical lenses 160, which are located between a light source 52 and a rotary polygon mirror and have power in a sub-scanning direction, or a rotation axis direction of the rotary polygon mirror, and which are cantileverly supported by and fixed to a fixing part such as a cylindrical lens fitting part. Light from one of a plurality of luminous elements of the light source located closest to the fixing part in a main scanning direction is used as synchronization detection light to be fed to synchronization detection means such as a synchronization detection sensor 63. |
