PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an electrolyte that is adaptable to increases in the voltage of electrochemical devices and that can improve the cycle characteristics and storage characteristics of electrochemical devices; and an electrochemical device.SOLUTION: An electrolyte comprises: a solvent including a fluorinated saturated cyclic carbonate and a fluorinated chain carbonate; a specific lithium imide salt; and an electrolyte salt (excluding the lithium imide salt), the fluorinated chain carbonate having a fluorine content of 33-70 mass%.
