<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector, an electronic device, and a control method of the electronic device which can turn off CPU controlling an operation unit later after turning off the other functional parts when separating the operation unit from the electronic device main body. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 30 is composed of an operation unit side connector part 30a fixed to the operation unit side, and an electronic device main body side connector part 30b fixed to the electronic device main body side. A plurality of terminals 34 are mounted to the operation unit side connector part 30a in a row at prescribed intervals, and a plurality of electrodes 35 are mounted to the electronic device main body side connector part 30b fixed to the electronic device main body side at the position where the electrodes 35 matching the terminals at prescribed distance. At least one electrode shown by a sign of 35a out of the electrodes 35 is formed shorter than the other electrodes 35, and turned into a detection electrode.
