PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, by setting a mask region only at a part indicating information, a defect from being overlooked.SOLUTION: The device comprises a first lighting device 3 for irradiating a bottle bottom 11 of a bottle 10, in which predetermined information is indicated on the bottle bottom so as to be raised or recessed from the surface of the bottle bottom, with a first illumination light L1 from a position opposite to the bottle bottom, and a second lighting device 4 for irradiating the bottle bottom 11 of the bottle 10 with a second illumination light L2 from a position deviated from the position opposite to the bottle bottom, the lighting devices being lit sequentially to photograph the bottle bottom under the lighting of each illumination light by a camera 5. After the part raised or recessed from the surface of the bottle bottom 11 is detected from a first image generated under the lighting of the first illumination light L1 to read information, mask data is created, the mask data specifying, as a mask region, the part from which the read information has been detected. The mask data is applied to an image generated under the lighting of the second illumination light L2 to set a mask region and an image of a defect is detected from an image region other than the mask region. |
