PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer type image forming method compatibly satisfying wettability of a reaction liquid and an ink into an intermediate transfer body, and releasability for transferring an intermediate image to a recording medium.SOLUTION: An image forming method includes a reaction liquid application step of applying a reaction liquid to an intermediate transfer body; an intermediate image formation step of forming an intermediate image by applying an ink onto an intermediate image forming surface with the reaction liquid of the intermediate transfer body applied thereto; and a transfer step of transferring the intermediate image to a recording medium. Wettability of the intermediate transfer body relative to the reaction liquid and the ink is controlled by electrowetting. |
