<p>A stand mixer 100 comprising of a gesture control unit 302 for remote controlling the stand mixer 100 by the use of hand signals. The gesture control unit comprises of a commands database 404, a sensing unit 402 and a command processing unit 406. The commands database may preferably comprise a plurality of commands corresponding to a range of gestures and a voice commands with each command corresponding to a specific function of the stand mixer. The commands database further comprises a gesture database maintaining the plurality of gestures. The sensing unit is configured for capturing data, at least one of a gesture performed by a user and a voice command given by the user. The sensing unit is configured to process the captured data. The processing includes mapping motion corresponding to the gesture performed by the user with a known gesture using the gesture database and mapping the known gesture to an associated command using the command database. The processing procedure includes mapping the voice command given by the user with the voice commands in the commands database. The command processing unit may preferably be configured for sending the associated command for performing a plurality of corresponding functions.</p> |
