The present invention relates to a device for determining a car accident by using a car diagnosis unit. The device according to the present invention comprises: a data collecting unit for collecting car data from a car diagnosis unit during driving of a car; a collision sensing unit for sensing a collision state of the car; an accident determining unit for determining an accident situation of the car according to stop time from a brake operation to stop of the car and whether the collision sensing unit collides if the car is stopped when speed of the car checked by the car data is lower than preset reference speed and determining an accident situation of the car according to whether the collision sensing unit collides if the car is stopped when the speed of the car is higher than the reference speed; and a control unit for outputting accident information of the car according to the determination result of the determining unit.
