A method of capturing and releasing carbon dioxide comprises suspending one or more panels of an open weave material 10 suitable for capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) within a moving air stream downwind of blades 6 of a wind turbine 8 and after a defined period of time, removing the panel or panels from the air stream. Subsequently, the panel or panels may be suspended substantially horizontally at a distance above an area of ground in which plants are growing to increase the rate of crop growth. A support means or structure 12 may be used to support sheets of the material 10 in a vertical orientation behind the blades 6 and can include a frame 14 to which the material is attached. Advantageously carbon dioxide is captured from air and crops may be harvested more frequently. . |
