PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition suitable for a liquid crystal display element achieving a stable discharge quantity of a liquid crystal material in a one-drop fill (ODF) process while hardly generating dropping marks during manufacture without deteriorating ghosting characteristics of the display element and various properties as the liquid crystal display element such as dielectric anisotropy, viscosity, nematic phase upper limit temperature, low-temperature nematic phase stability, and γ.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition having negative dielectric anisotropy includes one or more compounds selected from compounds represented by the formula (I) and one or more compounds selected from compounds represented by the formula (II).
