The present invention relates to a brake device of a cart for stairs. The cart comprises: a body unit wherein a handle unit is coupled to an upper part; a pair of wheels installed in the right and the left respectively, on a lower part of the body unit to be able to rotate; and a loading unit installed in a front of a lower end of the body unit. The brake device of the cart for stairs comprises: a brake sensing body, wherein a part separated from the front end at fixed intervals is connected to a wheel axle of the wheel to be able to rotate, a part behind the wheel axle extended to be inclined downwards towards a rear, and the rear end protruding to the outer side of the wheel in a lateral view; a brake wheel fixated to the rear end of the brake sensing body not to be rotated; a brake body connected to a part located on the front of the wheel axle among the brake sensing body, wherein a part protrudes to the outside of the wheel in a lateral view; a brake disc connected to the part protruding to the outside of the wheel in the lateral view among the brake body, and located to be separated from an outer circumference of the wheel; and a brake starting point maintaining spring to return the brake sensing body to an initial state. When the wheel crosses the edges of the stairs and goes down, the brake wheel is hung on the edge of the stairs such that the brake sensing body rotates. As such, the brake body moves, and the brake disc is attached to the outer circumference of the wheel, thus stopping the rotation of the wheel. |
