The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device, more specifically, to a liquid crystal panel with a color filter layer and a backlight unit with a light source. The backlight unit includes a blue light source. The liquid crystal display device comprises: a red light converting layer arranged between the backlight unit and a red pattern of the color filter layer; and a green light converting layer arranged between the backlight unit and a green pattern of the color filter layer so that the liquid crystal display device drastically increases light converting efficiency to realize high brightness, reduces consumption power, and obtains improved color purity.
